DJ Tempa

Tempa's love for music took root in 1995, when he began collecting Jungle vinyl, laying the foundation for a lifelong obsession with underground bass culture. By 1997, his collection had expanded to include the emerging UK Garage sound, capturing the energy of a movement that was reshaping British nightlife. In 1998, with the addition of Technics turntables, DJ Tempa officially began his journey behind the decks — perfecting the craft of mixing across tempos and styles.

A fixture of the UK's vibrant pirate radio era, DJ Tempa cut his teeth on the airwaves of UK's Finest 87.5 and later held a fortnightly residency on Flex FM during its legendary pirate years. These platforms became the launchpad for his unique sound — an unfiltered blend of raw underground energy and technical precision that quickly caught the ears of promoters and listeners alike.

Throughout his career, DJ Tempa has performed at some of the UK's most iconic club spaces, including Ministry of Sound, Brixton Jam, and Garage City at Bar Rumba. His dynamic sets, rooted in the foundations of UK bass culture, consistently deliver a high-energy journey that connects eras, genres, and crowds.

Beyond the world of Jungle and Garage, Tempa has also showcased his versatility with a Sunday residency at the Scotch Bar in Windsor, where he curated house music sessions enhanced by live percussion, featuring bongos and saxophones. This residency highlighted his ability to blend DJ performance with live musical elements — creating an immersive, rhythmic experience for dancers and music lovers alike.

A familiar face at Jungle and Drum & Bass events across the UK, DJ Tempa has performed alongside legends such as Grooverider and DJ Hazard at Ram Records showcases. As a key member of the A.K Soundsystem, Tempa helped host a series of renowned London boat parties, collaborating with influential labels and artists including Deekline (Hot Cakes / Jungle Cakes) and the Stanton Warriors (Stanton Sessions).

His journey has also seen him share the stage with DJ EZ at the Ascot Tea Party and perform back-to-back with Marcus Nasty (Rinse FM) — affirming his place among the most respected and versatile DJs in the UK underground movement.
